Nicky Lala-Mohan Appointed as New Credit Ombud
Nicky Lala-Mohan has been appointed as the new Credit Ombud. No stranger to the office, Lala-Mohan, previously headed the Credit Ombud’s Council as its chairperson, will officially take over the reins from Manie van Schalkwyk, the current Ombud, on 1 February 2015 who contract is coming to an end.
‘I would like to congratulate Nicky on his appointment and I have all the confidence that he will take this office to great heights,’ says van Schalkwyk.
Lala-Mohan first stepped into the credit industry more than 2 decades ago and has plied his trade mostly within the banking sphere, having held various positions within Standard Bank and he has been with the Banking Association for 11 years.
This wealth of experience in the credit industry will definitely stand him in good stead to continue with the good work of the Credit Ombud’s office which reached its 10 year milestone this year.
